Connecting the business community

Why Attend a Hot Networking Event?

Join us at HOT Networking. A monthly Networking Event for professionals in and around Halifax to meet, connect and collaborate at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre.

You can form new collaborative connections.

We’re a friendly bunch at HOT Networking, and we pride ourselves on our informal, laid back nature. All those in our network are welcoming and open to forging professional connections; it’s not always what you know, but who you know!

You can learn something new.

Attending HOT Networking is the ideal way to learn new skills or methods to support your businesses. And, we encourage informal networking before and after speaker presentations, so you could learn about upcoming projects or developments that you could be involved in; it’s good to talk!

Support local.

Ultimately, by attending or speaking at HOT Networking, you’re supporting local businesses. You’re helping to raise the profile of Halifax Opportunities Trust and the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, too.

Speak at our HOT Networking event

Do you have a specialism you’d like to share? Are you skilled in something that you think others would benefit from?

If you’ve been to one of our Networking events before, you’ll have a good idea of the types of things people want to know and how diverse the subject matter can be. Whether it’s tips on wellbeing or myth busting about SEO; if attendees leave knowing something they didn’t already know before the session, your topic is perfect!

HOT Networking: HOT Topics

Are you looking for advice and support to ensure your employees and team members feel valued and fulfilled in the workplace?

Join us this Stress Awareness Month when we’ll be hosting another HOT Topic session on looking after your team, with Splat Training.

As a manager or leader, building a positive relationship with your team is one of the key ingredients to successful team working and achieving the results you want. But with mounting pressures at work (targets, KPIs, deadlines, etc.) and the mix of personalities within the team, as well as pressures in our personal lives, striking the right balance can often be a challenge.

Amy from Splat Training will guide us through the importance of looking after your team and building positive relationships, and why ignoring this can lead to increased stress and disengagement.
