Once home to Halifax's pioneering fashion designer and textile entrepreneur, the refurbishment of one of the oldest local mills into the first innovation centre of the area, with support from various public organizations, marks not only Halifax's thriving creative past as a leading industrial textile hub, but embraces the region's future as a base where digital and new media companies can develop their businesses. 

Managed by Halifax Opportunities Trust, a local social enterprise and registered charity, the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre (EWIC) provides over 14,000 sq ft of contemporary, quality serviced, office space designed to meet the needs of forward-thinking and fast-moving creative and digital businesses operating on global markets and innovative niches.
